Futuristic Windows user concept surfaces

with one comment

An interesting Windows user concept has appeared on the internet via Vimeo. Windows 7 isn’t even out yet, but that hasn’t stopped Cullen Dudas from illustrating his vision of what the future Windows experience should be like. It is called the Copenhagen User Experience and the surprising part is that he doesn’t work for Microsoft. From the looks of things, Microsoft should hire him for Windows 8 as he may be the only hope that Microsoft has. See below for the video of the user experience.

While it doesn’t look like my cup of tea, I have to give credit to Cullen Dudas for trying to reinvigorate the Windows experience which has lost a lot of steam since the release of Windows Vista. Although Windows 7 is on it’s way, many people’s confidence in Microsoft has been shaken (including myself). If you like what you see in the videos below, leave a comment on the video and pass it along to your friends.

Here is an excerpt of Cullen’s description on the Copenhagen User Experience concept.

“Copenhagen is a User Experience concept that I designed. It is unique in the fact that it manages to bring together classic design, contemporary design, usability, and art.

Copenhagen shatters the composite prototypical event patterns people have developed for their OS, Windows.

It is a collision of months of research, high visibility, proper affordance, accurate conceptual models, visceral experience, behavioral experience, and reflective experience, all coming together to create an amazing user experience.”
